In a single day, you can reach to the serene hills where you’ll find yourself above the clouds from Kathmandu. A walk for 4 to 6 hours from the city will get you to your hiking destinations. Walking through the sub-alpine forests into the countryside with beautiful villages is truly amazing. One can witness the Nepalese lifestyle and culture in the villages.

Day 01: Kathmandu- Chandragiri hike, And to Hattiban resort overnight at the Hattiban Resort
Highest Altitude: 2551 meters
Chandragiri Hill is a newly established touristic destination lying southwest to the Kathmandu valley. Chandragiri is seven kilometers distance from Thankot.
The Kathmandu to Chandragiri hike begins at MataTirtha. We will drive to Hotel outlook inn in Mata Tirtha on the previous day and will stay there for overnight. Beginning from Mata Tirtha, we will hike to the Chandragiri hill with beautiful views of Kathmandu valley.
The Chandragiri Hill is a hill of sedimentary rocks. While hiking, you will be walking across the small and big boulders. Also, you will be walking through the lush green jungle. Chandragiri Hill is a popular destination among internal tourists. However, most of them prefer to go to Chandragiri via the cable car, which is the only means of transportation in the place.
At the Chandragiri Hill, there is a temple of Lord Shiva, a Hindu deity. This Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple has a historical significance. King Prithvi Narayan, the unifier of Nepal had worshipped in this temple before he got victory over Kathmandu valley.
From the top of Chandragiri Hills, you will see astonishing panoramas of Annapurna as well as the Everest. You will see an amazing view of the bowl-shaped Kathmandu. In the valley, you will see nothing but the dense settlements and some of the giant structures there.

Day 02: Drive or hike to Bhanjyang and Bhanjhyang to Champadive Hike and back to Kathmandu
Highest Altitude: 2249 meters
Champadevi Hill is the third highest hill around the Kathmandu valley. Situated in the southeastern part of the valley in the Makwanpur district, Champadevi makes a perfect hiking destination. We will start hiking from the Hattiban resort or we can also drive to a place called Bhanjyang and start hiking from there.
Hiking through the forests of pine inhaling lungs full of fresh air is the major highlights of the hike. The hiking trail is beautiful, well-trodden, and easy to follow. Though there are various routes to Champadevi Hill, we will walk through the Dollu valley. The hiking route is beautiful with pine trees around. Also, you will see the grassy ridge tops that get too perfect for the leeches during monsoon.
The Champadevi hill is popular for the striking views of the Kathmandu valley. You will also see the eye-catching views of the many Himalayas including Everest, Langtang, Gauri Shanker, Annapurna, etc. There is a shrine of Champa Devi on the top of the Champadevi Hill. Also, you will see a Buddhist monastery.
The Champadevi Hike is a beautiful one. You will also see beautiful places like Khokana, Taudaha Lake, Dakshinkali Temple road, and Pharping. After completing the hike to Champadevi, we will drive to Kathmandu.
Option: The Champadevi Hiking is a perfect one-day hike near the Kathmandu valley. If you want to go hiking to Champadevi only, we can organize a one-day hike for you. We will take an early morning drive to Bhanjyang and then hike to Champadevi. We will return back to Kathmandu after completing the hike.
Height: 2782 meters
Phulchowki is the highest hill surrounding the Kathmandu valley. Lying in the southeast corner of Kathmandu, the Phulchowi hill makes a beautiful hiking destination.
Day 1: Godavari Botanical garden tour and hiking to Phulkhoki hill back to Hotel at Patan Ove night at the hotel.
We will begin with a drive to the Godavari. The Godavari is 14 kilometers from Kathmandu. After reaching the Godavari, we will tour around the Godavari Botanical garden. As the name implies, we will see different floral species inside this garden.
After the visit, we will begin our hike to the Phulchowki hilltop. The hiking route passes through the thick forests rhododendrons, oaks, and other trees. Hiking through the subtropical forest, we will see various species of orchids. Also, we will see lots of butterflies and birds.
After walking for 3 to 4 hours, we will reach on the top of the hill. On clear weather, you will see stunning views of the Kathmandu valley and some of the distant Himalayan ranges including Annapurna and Gaurishankar range.
After exploring the beautiful vistas, we will trek down to the Godavari and will drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 2: Patan and Bhaktapur tour with guide and back to Kathmandu
This day is all about touring Patan and Bhaktapur. There are various beautiful destinations in these places that are popular for their cultural and artistic values. We will tour around the Patan Durbar Square where we will visit the famous temple made up of stones, Krishna Mandir.
We will take a drive from Patan to Bhaktapur in our private vehicle. In Bhaktapur, we will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. We will explore around the golden gate, Taleju Temple, 55 windows palace, the five-storeyed palace, and many architectural monuments around.
After visiting the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, we will also make a visit to the Changu Narayan Temple, if the time favors. This temple is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The temple is situated atop a hill. At the temple, you can witness the art and culture of the medieval age.
After touring around, we will return back to Kathmandu for overnight.

Kakani Danda is one of the best Himalayan viewpoints lying north-west of the Kathmandu valley. The one-day hiking to Kakani from Kathmandu starts with a drive to a place called Rani Pauwa, Rani Pauwa is at a distance of 29 kilometers from Kathmandu valley. After reaching there, we will start hiking with excellent views of green paddy fields and rural Nepalese life.
The hike is an enjoyable one. The fresh and clean air will make you feel refreshed. Walking along with silent villages and beautiful natural scenarios truly feel heavenly. You will see beautiful views of the Kathmandu valley while trekking through the forests of pines.
From the top of Kakani hill station, you will see astounding views of ever-soaring Langtang Himal range, Ganesh Himal ranges, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna, Fishtail, Dorjelakpa, and many others. The view is so refreshing when the visibility is good. You will also see a local monastery.
Kakani is famous for Himalayan trout fish. You can also taste the local trouts in the restaurant there. The Kakani Hill is equally popular for strawberry farming. After spending a beautiful time at Kakani Hill, we will return back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel Kathmandu

Day 1: Kathmandu to Kakani hiking
On the first day, we will hike to Kakani like mentioned earlier. After reaching there, we will enjoy and will stay there in a hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Kakani to Surya-chaur Hiking back to Kathmandu by car/ jeep/ bus

On the second day, we will begin hiking from Kakani to a place called Surya Chaur. The Kakani to Surya Chaur is a short and easy trek of two to three hours. We will walk through the Shivapuri national park. This hike is a relaxing one. Trekking through the beautiful forests enjoying the purest forms of nature is more than amazing.
Suryachaur is an ideal place for hiking. Lying towards the north of Kathmandu valley, this is a beautiful place with flat terrains and beautiful sceneries. From there, you will see the entire Thangshing Valley. You will also see the fresh views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Range, Mt. Machapuchare, Mt. Gaurishankar, Godatape, Rauchuli, and many others.
