Nagarjun hill is also known as Jamachowk. This is the nearest hill site of Kathmandu valley which is covered by thick forest with historical as well as natural settings, situated North West of Kathmandu valley which is a part of Shivapuri National park. The hiking starts from Balajubypass. On the top of the hill, a beautiful Jamacho monastery is situated where we can find the small statue of Nagarjuna Buddha, Similarly, on the west of the hills, we can find a cave. There is the statue of Lord Buddha and Arya Narayajuna. This area is protected by the Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park conversation area. Apart from religious and spiritual importance, Nagarjuna is also famous for its natural beauty. We can have magnificent views of the Annapurna Himalayan range, Manaslu Himalayan range, Ganesh Himal mountains, and Langtang Himalayan range from the top of the hill. Nagarjun hill or Jamacho (Jamachowk) is also famous for its sunset view in the evening. And of course the Kathmandu valley view including Tribhuvan international airport. The park has two (2) big picnic spots around the top hill where the locals from Kathmandu mostly go on Friday and Saturday holidays. Camacho or Nagarjun hill hiking is also a part of the Kathmandu trek around Kathmandu valley.
